October seemed to have come & gone, and we are now on a count down to Christmas. Scott and myself have allowed our crowdfunding pages to finish, this way we can put together all the funds raised and change the amount we now need.
This is our current amount we have raised -
We are ecstatic with this amount but still need another £11,000. We have paid £1000 to Grosvenor Interiors for the design, made a few adjusted and added a few items. However below is the design for the new bereavement room.
There was some concern and worry with regards to the rumours of St Helier and Epsom Hospital’s closing. Taking this on board I attended a meeting with the Chief Executive in which to discuss these matters. Daniel Elkeles gave Bearing Hope his full support and advised me it was his job to ensure neither hospitals would close. The aim is to provide both hospitals with a mass refurbishment, and look to be complete by 2030. We hope to have raised the funds for a new bereavement room by next autumn (if not before), So by the time the grand refurb is finished the bereavement room would be likely to need TLC again. Sadly the room is used daily and we want to give the room a huge facelift.
Below are the pictures we took whilst we were waiting for Hope to arrive -
This room is where we got to say Hello and Goodbye to our daughter. This room is very special to us and will forever be in our memories. We want to make this room as comfortable and homely as we can so that other families who will sadly use the room will have warmer precious memories.
Going forward we are currently discussing our next event and are looking for people who would like to help us raise the money we need. Scott is currently looking for a new location for his 2018 fishing match and would like to arrange a group of bereaved fathers to do a group activity to raise awareness for dad’s and money towards the cause.
I have contacted The Roundtable who organise our local fireworks display, and have asked to be considered as a cause when they decide which charities and causes they would like to donate to. On the night of their event all tickets they sold gets donated to local charities and causes. Their Chairman decided after the event and has a special give away evening. Fingers crossed we will get picked.
I am currently looked at putting a team of people together as Bearing Hope Helpers, to discuss ideas and organise events. With Christmas coming companies and families like to donate to local causes and charities. I have lots of ideas and we are desperate for helpers, so if your interested please contact us.
